Braced Frame

Braced structures incorporate the RSFJs in the braces. One or several RSFJs can be installed in series in a brace to increase the travel.

Steel Braced Frame

For steel braced frames, split diagonal braces have half RSFJ middle plates welded to the brace web and flanges; cap plates, bolts and springs complete the coupling of the brace members and provide the seismic resisting brace. A RSFJ joint assembly at each brace end doubles the travel.
